LOVING GOD AND SERVING POPLE
| Mission Statement “To build Christ centered relationships through the teaching, learning, and application of God’s Word. Challenging our walks so that we may grow in our faith for the purpose of spreading the gospel to Lake Worth, and to Florida, and to the ends of the earth” |
Youth Leader![]() John is currently working full-time at the Bethesda Hospice Inpatient Unit as a Registered Nurse, while pursuing his Master’s of Divinity at Knox Theological Seminary. John was blessed to have been called to a youth ministry internship with Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church in September 2006 where together with his wife , Tiffany, with their first (and only) daughter, Hannah Alysia, born to them in March 2006, they have enjoyed building relationships, serving in the community, teaching, and learning about the love of Christ. |
Missions
We are currently investigating the possibility of working with Youth EE department for summer 2008. And we are praying about possibilities and for a definitive destination for a mission trip out of the country by the end of July. Commitment will entail participation in Youth EE on Sunday nights and/or help with fundraising throughout the course of the years.
Plugged In
Youth Evangelism Explosion Quick Start: - Youth EE will run on Sunday nights from 6-8:15 P.M. Quickstart is a new program which enables the E.E material to be presented in a way which will enable our youth to begin sharing their faith within 2 weeks. It will be complete with OJT (on the job training) which we will start on the second week. We will be in need of volunteers who are certified EE trainers to go out with us on Sunday nights for OJT immediately following a 40-45 minute lesson to start each week at 6 pm. The proposed six week session will start September 9, 2007 and run through October 14, 2007, at which time our kids will be presented with a special certificate acknowledging what God has enabled them to accomplish. This will entail a commitment primarily on Sunday nights for those who are trained in EE or wishing to be trained in E.E.
Youth Evangelism Explosion Zoom: This will be the 2nd six week session of youth E.E to run October 21 and November 4, 11, 18, 25, and December 2. After the participants have accomplished both 6 week sessions they will be certified to train, and have a strong familiarity with the full E.E outline. Again, if you are a certified EE trainer and interested in helping train our youth , this is a wonderful way to spend your Sunday nights. 3. Power & Light Wednesday Nights: Wednesday nights is a time of food, fun, fellowship, and Biblical teachings that will, prayerfully, encourage our youth as they develop a Christian worldview as they are faced with the increasing challenges they are faced with on a daily basis. This entails a commitment to be in attendance for at least 3 of 4 Wednesday nights and follow up with small groups.
Westgate Ministry
Beginning in March 2007, the LOPC youth group began bi-monthly trips to Westgate Tabernacle, a church in west Palm Beach that has sheltered and fed the homeless for over 80 years. Trips have included preparing and serving lunch for 60+ people, collecting toiletries and donations, engaging children in games and activities, and sharing the love of Christ. We have been blessed to have representatives from different ministries at LOPC joining us in this endeavor. This entails a bi-monthly trip to Westgate, as well as help with collecting goods and helping plan and organize trips.
Praise Team
We would like to organize a group of young people to assist occasionally in worship choruses on Sunday mornings. If you play an instrument or would like to learn to sing with such an ensemble, we want to hear from you.
