Bill McKee Jr. Scholarship Program
Bill and Charlotte click to enlarge       Bill McKee ( pictured with wife Charlotte) worked tirelessly and selflessly for many years to promote the significance of a Christian Education in the life of our children at Lake Osborne Church. He always carried a binder with his dream outlined in it. His diligence and the prayers of those that shared his dream resulted in the establishment of a Scholarship Fund in the summer of 2002. It is a part of Missions at LOPC and managed by the Diaconate.
On March 11, 2008 Bill McKee's hard work and "dream" was recognized by the Session of LOPC and the Scholarship Program name was changed to the Bill McKee Scholarship Program.

This scholarship program was created with some of the following goals in mind:

  1. To promote the gospel and encourage full-time Christian workers from our LOPC youth
  2. To assist godly families with the Christian education of their children
  3. To attract new families to LOPC
  4. To provide a means for members of the LOPC congregation who wish to fulfill their commitment to assist parents in the Christian nurture of their children through organized encouragement, prayer support and funding of the scholarship program

During the month of August, 2008 new applications will be accepted for the 2009-2010 school year.

Who should consider applying?

  1. Parents of Christian school students who will be in grades 1 through 12 during the 2009-2010 school year
  2. College students who will be enrolled in school, full-time, for the 2009-2010 academic year

What can I do?

I’m not in one of those two categories, but would like to be involved.

  1. Pray for our young people and their parents!
  2. Volunteer to participate on one of the program committees … organize others to pray for our young people, or make care packages for our college students while they are away at school.
  3. Give generously! Without the financial support of individual donors, this program would not exist.
